The Assurance Medical Society (AMS)
The Assurance Medical Society is the principal UK organisation for the education of insurance underwriters involved in risk assessment for life and disability insurances. In conjunction with the Chartered Insurance Institute, the AMS has created a Diploma in Life Underwriting.
In addition to other insurance examinations, students must pass the Life and Disability Underwriting paper. The AMS produces and maintains the syllabus, sets examination questions and marks the paper. Students who pass all examinations and have relevant underwriting experience may apply for the diploma.
